Just Cause 2 Overview

Posted by Spencer On November - 29 - 2009
Just Cause 2 is a game produced by avalanche studios, a swedish game developer.
Named after the game development team Avalanche studios, they have created a game engine called the “Avalanche Engine” also the “Avalanche Engine 2″ which Just cause 2 will be run on.

Just Cause 2 Gameplay

Just cause 2 is not set in any real location instead it is set on a fictional island of Southeast Asia called Panau. Just  Cause 2 will be a 3rd person shooter in an open world, free roaming styled game-play. The gameplay looks great and the animations quite flowing as it does have alot of transitions from driving to flying and ofcourse running on land. There are many weapons of choice including explosives such as C4 and Rockets!

Just Cause 2 will be publish in 2010 on the 23rd of March in North America and 26th of March in Europe by Eidos Interactive.

There had already been 2 set backs for Just Cause 2’s release date one to 2009 and now as it currently stands 2010. I think this will be the official release date. Well lets hope they get it working right, it’s best to keep people waiting then to release a game that has bugs and errors and is incomplete. The game will be available on PC, PS3 and XBOX 360

Oh and just one last comment on the Avalanche 2 Game Engine it looks GREAT!

Crysis 2

The nanosuit is back!

Upcoming game Crysis 2 will be released on PC, XBOX 360 and PS3 and is rumored to be released around 26th of March 2010.

Crysis 2 will run on the beautiful CryEngine series The all New CryEngine 3!  CryEngine 3 has even more great features, one being dynamic breakable objects kind of like the palm trees in cryengine 2 http://www.mycryengine.com has more information.

nanosuit 2

Crysis 2 will include a new updated nanosuit called the nanosuit 2!

The nanosuit 2 ‘SECOND’ (or the N2 for short) seems to have more features, and looks even better than before! Crytek have created a website about the new nanosuit

http://www.crynetsystems.com/

Reading on, the Crysis 2 website (crynetsystems)

So what new features will the N2 hold for us?

The Nanosuit SECOND already has a brand new stylish design for the US style suit, we have not yet seen the korean updated nanosuit yet.

Automatic Suit Mode

The nanosuit has different modes that you can switch between to gain the perfect edge in battle on the field (or roof, or boat, or in water or anywhere else you’d expect to run into korean infantry). Some hints on the cry net systems website, (just so your with me under the nanosuit 2 tab) seem to indicate  that the suit of armor will adapt to the human inside of it, more than in the first crysis. Also implying that the suit will know the bearers next move. Which could mean that the players do not always have to manually change suit mode. If the nanosuit 2 automatically picks the best mode for the terrain or what lie ahead of the player/suit bearer.

These are just implications but it sure sounds like crytek have something more than just an extra suit mode for us.

New Nanosuit 2 Modes

A new mode will most likely be available and alot of tweaks on the current preexisting modes. The primary suit mode being Armor mode. Although one of the other most widley used modes would be speed mode, as not only is it good for running/ moving faster, its very good for dodging bullets, and for horizontal jumping. The strength is less used, but is good for jumping high and aiming straight. In crysis 2 maybe we’ll see some changes here to help strength mode get back into gameplay and become used more often.

crysis 2

Water Fight!

No not the fun kind, that you play with your friends on summer days. There are many things that players would like to see in crysis 2 being able to hit an opponent underwater being just one of them. If the nanosuit has all this power shouldn’t Nomad and Psycho be able to fight it out with fists underwater? At Least I think so.

Enough of that…

*GOES to Build a PC* … hmm wait or should i buy a PS3 or XBOX 360.

Nahhh!

Alpha Protocol The New Spy RPG

Posted by Spencer On August - 24 - 2009

Basic Game Principles

Alpha Protocol is a Spy Role Playing Game from Sega, developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

Obsidian Entertainment previously developed the RPG Neverwinter Nights 2, and are currently working on Fallout: New Vegas.

Alpha Protocol is said to bring spy elements along with a action packed RPG 3rd person type game. Alot of viewers have mentioned that the spy elements , such as gadgets and sneaking around reminds them of Splinter Cell.

Alpha Protocol Graphics

Firstly i would like to point out that the graphics on the characters look stunning, but i wouldn’t say they are the best for its time. The Graphics overall, including enviroment and game objects are pretty much mediocre pretty much moderate. Running on the Unreal Engine that powered the Hit Unreal Tornament, the game’s graphics are not going to be disapointing.

Gameplay and the Extras

When you speak to NPC’s you are given a set of choices how to reply and also what attitude your character has, in this case Michael Thorton being the main character. All dialogue is spoken so no long reading pages of text which is always a good thing. Most games RPG’s have this now.

Alpha protocol is only going to remain as a single player game, which is common with the spy type games, so unfortunatley the replay ability maybe a low factor for the game. Which may mean that the games life span may not be very long such as big hit games such as Gears of War, and Halo. Which have a massive life span due to their online features.

The game will be covering a wide range of platforms Including: MS Windows, XBOX 360, and Play Station 3.

Alpha Protocol will be relased on the 6th of October 2009
