Just a quick blog about Prototype.

Prototype the game

In prototype the game, in the first few minutes you will eventually come to a point where a tank has to be defeated.

The game screen goes into a letterbox shape, an zooms in on the tank. Once the camera zooms out the letter box shape should i can only assume disappear. Although i have not been able to get past this point. The letter box shape stays and i can no longer control Alex Mercer.

The only thing i can press is Esc and then i get to a loading screen that just repeats itself until i close the game.

Has anyone else experienced this with prototype?

I’ve not found anything on the net about it yet, maybe its a rare bug. Prototype had been running fine for the first 8 minutes though.

We’ve seen one of the most advanced gaming engines today evolve since farcry which was developed initially by Crytek based on the Cry Engine, We then witnessed CryEngine2 and the massive impact on the PC Gaming industry it has made.

With many game developers trying to keep up with its technology.

Today we witness Cry Engine 3.

The newest edition of the Cry Engine (game engine) from Crytek, its said to deliver not only the best graphics on the market today, but now includes full support for Dx9, Dx10 and XBOX360 and Ps3.. for you console owners!
Crytek are selling licenses to other game developers as we speak, so we hope to see many more games in the future based off this beautiful engine.

Im sure the 3rd addition to the crysis series will be in CryEngine 3, we will have to see! time for an upgrade?! i hope so.

Here is a quick way to remove crysis wars intro movies fast, just follow the simple steps below.

1. Right click here and click save target as (or something of the simliar sort). Make sure the file type option when saving is ALL FILES, not “txt” on the file save dialog.
2. Browse to the crysis videos folder (by default “C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis Wars\Game\Localized\Video“
3. Click save, making sure the file extention stays as .vbs
4. Goto your videos folder “C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis Wars\Game\Localized\Video” and run crysis-wars-no-movies-script.vbs
5. Click Yes to remove and then you will have the intros removed from your game, just run it again and click ‘no’ to restore the intro’s

There you have removed the crysis loading screens with 5 simple steps, also have a very easy way of restoring them and removing them when you need to.

I have setup a Lord of the Rings Conquest server (for the pc version) with a speed mod, everything is as normal

• Spells
• Running
• Fighting is all stable at 130% speed
• 30% more than usual

So try out the server in your game. If i get any positive feedback I’ll write up a tutorial on how to mod it to 130% speed +.

I hope they get rid of that 25 frames per second cap soon!

Lord of the Rings : Conquest

With a full list of features Lord Of The Rings Conquest is said to deliver a great all round gaming experience. With talk about a previous release from Pandemic Studios of “Starwars Battle Front” about, its more than  likely that Lord of the Rings Conquest will play the same way that Starwars Battle Front did.

If you are familiar with Battle Front and enjoyed it you’ll probably find that you’ll enjoy this game too. Starwars Battle Front is still a popular title today, with a large community of gamers still playing online.

With Lord of The Rings Conquest you will be able to play cooperatively either 4 player split screen, or online across the internet.

Pandemic are covering most platforms, including PC, PS3, and the XBOX 360. The release date is set for 10 days from now on the 13th of January for U.S, 15th for Austrailia, and the 16th for Europe.

Ragezone Defaced

At 18:30 GMT on the 27th of October Ragezone had been defaced by hackers.

The hackers part of the hacking group The Defaced(TD for short), hacked this enourmous gaming site, #8,216 most visited site at the time of writing.

Ragezone supports many different type of games and have their own servers for some, most well known for the forums it has on MMO’s.

If you were visiting ragezone between 18:30 GMT and 18:34, you would have seen what it looked like, if not view the screenshot i took below.

Why did they target the gaming site ragezone?

My impression was to get noticed, Rage Zone is a pretty big site, with thousands of visitors a day this would be an easy way to direct traffic to them, notice their url everywhere.

It could be just for fun, or had a grudge against someone at ragezone who knows.

Crysis War’s is the multiplayer version of Crysis, and Crysis Warhead. This version is said to be a whole new game within itself (stand alone in-fact)Download the Crysis wars trailer below.

Crysis Wars

First of all Crysis Wars will be shipped as part of Crysis: Warhead, there are many new features in Crysis War’s, see the following:-

• Team Instant Action - Crysis Wars has added a new multplayer mode since Crysis’s average multiplayer, this is called team instant action (TIA for short). This should be like the previous “Instant Action” but allowing you to fight in teams.  It will include a intelligent spawn system that will insure you will spawn by your allies.
• New Maps - Crytek have added new maps to our multiplayer experience, 21 maps in total and 7 New never seen before maps. The new maps have been designed to  Create vertical gameplay which means you’ll have not only to watch your backs, but keep your head’s up!
• Original Maps - The Original maps have been modded and changed around, more optimized than before some entirley revamped.
• New HUD elements - New HUD elements have been implemented, including a kill count on your opponent to see how many times you’ve owned him!

Crysis warhead release date is tomorrow, so dont forget so is Crysis War’s!

Error Message

There are nearly always bugs in games, even if some are smaller than others, I am about to tell you how to fix one of the error messages that you could receive when starting Gears Of War for the pc. And how to fix it easily.

If you receive the error message:
“PhysXCore.dll You cannot run the game with modified execute code.”
Or any other error message with “You cannot run the game with modified execute code“.

Fixing the Error

1. Put in your Gears of War DVD or CD
2. Go to -> My Computer -> your DVD Drive:\ (labeled gears of war) -> browse to the following folder
3. “Drive:\program files\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\Binaries”
4. (If you don’t have the disk you can download the files at the bottom of this post)
5. Right click copy “PhysXCore.dll“
6. Then browse to your Gears of War installation path
7. “Installation Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\Binaries”
8. Then paste the file in that folder.(PhysXCore.dll)
9. Replace the file then close.

Now you should be able to open and run Gears of War as normal.

Their are other variants of this message such as openal32.dll, in which the same process can be used to fix the error. You just need to use the file openal32.dll instead of PhysXCore.dll when following the instructions above.
