The worlds thinnest notebook.

Apple Macbook Air

Apple have now brought out the thinnest notebook in the world!

The Macbook Air.

This amazing macbook is under 1 inch in thickness and weighs in at 3.0 pounds. This is the most portable macbook / laptop that has every hit the shops and if you are thinking of getting one then it would not be a mistake.

This ultrathin Apple notebook has a 13.3 inch widescreen which is LED backlit and has the same viewbale size screen as any other Macbook. This high resolution screen can give you 1280 by 800 resolution which gives even the lowest quality images an impressive look.

The Apple Macbook Air has all the benefits of high definition but in a very slim design.

Apple have given the Macbook Air the same keyboard as the standard Macbooks have but have added there own little twist to give you that little extra. Every key on the Apple Macbook Air has backlit illumination which makes it much easier to work in an area they does not contain a great amount of light such as meeting halls and taxis.

Not only does the Macbook Air have backlit keys they each have there own light sensor which automatically adjusts the keyboard to display the correct brightness for the best possible visibility.

Apple Macbook Air Keyboard

Macbook Air has an oversized touch pad which has multi touch technology. This allows you to rotate, zoom, swipe or even pinch text or images for adjustments. This is the same input as the iTouch and iPhone.

On the side of the Apple Macbook Air there is a flip down hatch to reveal all the ports you will including USB 2.0, headphone jack and a small DVI port which supports DVI, Composite, VGA and S-video outputs.

Macbook Air contains 2 gb of RAM and an impressive 80gb hard drive which allows lots of storage space.

Apple have included a built in iSight camera which is so small you can hardly see it. This allows you to chat online to anyone else in the world wherever you are. Very handy.

iSight Macbook Air camera

You will have a full wireless lifestyle with the Apple Macbook Air.

The Macbook Air comes with a 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR built in.

I hope my review for the new Apple Macbook Air has answered some of your questions.

Thanks for looking (“,)

Even more to touch.

Apple have now released the new iTouch January upgrade.

The iTouch upgrade can be yours for £12.99 ($19.99) from the official Apple website.

If you wish to purchase the upgrade click here for Apple Uk and here for Apple US . I am going to go through each part of the update step by step so you can decide for yourself whether to upgrade your iTouch.

New Customizable iTouch Home Screen

iTouch customized home screen

Break away from the crowd and customize your iTouch home screen to how you want it. This part of the iTouch upgrade has definitely been long coming and in my view should have been on the iTouch from the day they released it.

The i Touch dock can now hold up to 8 home pages and you are able to rearrange all of your home screen icons in any order you wish and you can also now create bookmark shortcuts to your favorite websites to make a 1 touch action to save time when browsing in Safari.

Overall this part of the upgrade seems to be a nice touch by Apple.

iTouch Mail

iTouch upgrade mail

Apple have decided that the iTouch should be the first ipod with email.

In the January upgrade you can now access your emails which comes in handy for both business and personal use.

The mail upgrade allows you to view emails in html format which displays graphics and photos as well as pdf, Microsoft word and Excel formats. The mail section of the upgrade basically works exactly the same as any PC / Apple Mac email client.

This is the best mail client that any hand held hardware has ever had.

iTouch Maps

iTouch January upgrade Maps

The iTouch Maps upgrade comes in very handy if you travel alot by car or foot.

iTouch Maps finds your approximate location and brings up a map which displays directions for where you need to get to.

You can also drop pin points on the map to for points of interest like bars, cinemas and restaurants.

It works the same way as a sat nav but you can be anywhere is the world and it will find where you are.

The only let down to i Touch maps is that you can not view any map if you do not have access to a Wi-Fi connection which can be a let down.

But never the less iTouch Maps is a good part to the January upgrade.

iTouch widgets

iTouch January upgrade widgets iTouch January update widgetsiTouch January Upgrade widgets

The widgets part of the upgrade contains little Apple applications that help with everyday things.

iTouch Weather widget

Get your seven day forecast including the highs and the lows of many places all over the world.

Again you do need a Wi-Fi connection but can give you piece of mind that you wont get soaked when out walking.

iTouch Notes Widget

This widget is very handy for all you forgetful people out there. Write notes for events coming up or even just to set a reminder for a meeting.

It is much the same as the Sticky notes application on the new Apple Mac leopard operating system.

The notes widget can be used for business or personal use.

Overall a very nice and comes in handy.

iTouch Stocks widget

The iTouch stock widget allows to check all your stocks and shares over a course of a day, month or even a whole year. This is definitely a good widget for business men and women who need to find out up to date figures throughout there day.

Overall the iTouch January upgrade in my eye is worth the £12.99 Apple are charging and I would recommend anyone who has the iTouch to purchase it today.

Check back soon for more news on the Apple iTouch.

Filed under Hardware, Mac / Apple, Mobile Technology

So I got the new Apple iTouch for Christmas and over the next few days I will be posting reviews on different aspects that the newest Apple release has to offer.

This is one great bit of hardware and by far beats any other ipod or mp3 player hands down.

The features of the i Touch are both user friendly and very well presented like most Apple software.

I am going to start my first post with the i Touch Internet browser called Safari which some mac lovers should already be aware of:

Apple i Touch internet browser Safari
Safari connects to the internet using wi-fi connectivity which means you will need to gain access to an internet router to browse the net. Sometimes trying to find an internet connection for the i Touch can be some what annoying, especially when the router is password protected so you cant connect.

Once the itouch has connected to a router (internet connection), it will remember the password for that router so you don’t have to keep typing it in which is a nice touch and I thank Apple for this because it does save time.

Safari is very well presented and works exactly the same as it does on an Apple Mac or even now a PC. Yes you heard me correctly you can now get Safari on your PC.

If you would like to give safari a try on your PC then just go to the official Apple website and download it for yourself.

Safari is the fastest Internet browser you can get and you can see why Apple would want it on the new i Touch, not to mention its their own Internet browser.

Websites on the i Touch look exactly as they would on your home PC or Apple Mac and it truly is a stepping stone for more advanced future products which I am sure Apple will bring out before anyone else!

Apple i Touch on Safari

The bottom line is that safari on the i touch is very well presented and easy to use whether you are bidding on eBay or just checking out the latest sports on BBC.

If you are a gadget and internet lover then the iTouch is definitely for you and I would recommend it hands down over any of its competitors.

Please check back tomorrow for another Apple iTouch review (“,)

Macbook Battery Life Lasting Time

Apple claim that the 55 watt battery supplied with the Apple MacBook lasts for 6 hours. This has not been the case in my experience, I’m lucky if Apple MacBook Battery lasts 3 hours. When only really use the Macbook for Internet, email and general usage, no movies etc. However, i think this to be because of the batteries first charge. The general recommendation is to leave and overcharge a lithium battery for the first charge. The temptation to play with the MacBook was too much and I used it while the apple mac book battery charged.

Jere is the specification of the macbook battery,

Battery and power

  • 55-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery (with integrated charge indicator LEDs) providing up to 6 hours of battery life
  • 60W MagSafe Power Adaptor with cable management system
  • MagSafe power adaptor port

Apple MacBook Battery

Longer lasting…

I believe this is the reason why the battery doesn’t last as long as it should. A good point about the MacBook is that it shows you how long the battery is going to last by giving you an accurate lasting time and it goes down as you use it. Next time I will resist tempation and charge the battery fully before i use it.

Of-course this doesn’t mean that your Mac-book battery is completely knackered so it would still come in handy as a spare battery, if you have done a similar thing i would suggest purchasing a spare MacBook battery. Smile

Im about to write a short review on the samsung g600, which i have owned for a few months.

So please read on why i had to just make the g600 review, to help all our readers.

I havn’t been impressed with the samsung g600 mobile phone at all, all the phones i have had before i am happy with. This phone has been disappointing. I’m comparing this mostly to my Sony Ericsson w810i which is only £70-£80 now. And i think that phone does far more.

G600 Mobile Phone Review

Further more..

The samsung g600 mobile phone has a few disappointments as follows:

  • Firstly you cannot set your message tone as an mp3. You have to select from about 4 set tones.
  • If you want to set a ringing tone it can only be done from the mp3′s on the phone (not memory card).
  • No slide tone like the other Samsungs.
  • The mobile runs slowly, when switching menus and texting the response from the mobile is slow.
  • Bluetooth on g600 fails to some mobiles like the sony erricson, but the other mobile does find the samsung.
  • The songs and other content loaded onto the memory card gets automatically moved to the phone, unless the phones memory’s full.
  • The sound is very tinny compared to my last mobile. not as clear. Expected it to be a little less as my last mobile was a walkman mobile, not that much though.
  • The paintof the shiney metalic samsung g600, is chipping off at the side already after a month, i keep my phone in good condition all the time my last mobiles hardly have a scratch on them after 2 years.
  • No flashlight function where you do not need to have to be taking a picture to have the light on. I find this quite useful sometimes.

3 Good points about the g600 are that…

  • You can create your own themes for the phone (on the mobile itself).
  • The camera being 5 mega pixel and video being o.k quality
  • The screen is clear.

‘The samsung mobile g600 isnt as good as it looks I’d recommend getting the new Sony Ericsson w910i, honestly even the w810i worth £80 now is better.’

I’m stuck with this phone for now, until a i decide to buy the new Sony Ericsson mobile. For the value of this mobile phone i don’t think its worth it at all. Well thats my view so far on the phone.

Thats it for my g600 review!
