The nanosuit is back!

Upcoming game Crysis 2 will be released on PC, XBOX 360 and PS3 and is rumored to be released around 26th of March 2010.

Crysis 2 will run on the beautiful CryEngine series The all New CryEngine 3!  CryEngine 3 has even more great features, one being dynamic breakable objects kind of like the palm trees in cryengine 2 http://www.mycryengine.com has more information.

Crysis 2 will include a new updated nanosuit called the nanosuit 2!

The nanosuit 2 ‘SECOND’ (or the N2 for short) seems to have more features, and looks even better than before! Crytek have created a website about the new nanosuit

So what new features will the N2 hold for us?

The Nanosuit SECOND already has a brand new stylish design for the US style suit, we have not yet seen the korean updated nanosuit yet.

Automatic Suit Mode

The nanosuit has different modes that you can switch between to gain the perfect edge in battle on the field (or roof, or boat, or in water or anywhere else you’d expect to run into korean infantry). Some hints on the cry net systems website, (just so your with me under the nanosuit 2 tab) seem to indicate  that the suit of armor will adapt to the human inside of it, more than in the first crysis. Also implying that the suit will know the bearers next move. Which could mean that the players do not always have to manually change suit mode. If the nanosuit 2 automatically picks the best mode for the terrain or what lie ahead of the player/suit bearer.

These are just implications but it sure sounds like crytek have something more than just an extra suit mode for us.

New Nanosuit 2 Modes

A new mode will most likely be available and alot of tweaks on the current preexisting modes. The primary suit mode being Armor mode. Although one of the other most widley used modes would be speed mode, as not only is it good for running/ moving faster, its very good for dodging bullets, and for horizontal jumping. The strength is less used, but is good for jumping high and aiming straight. In crysis 2 maybe we’ll see some changes here to help strength mode get back into gameplay and become used more often.

Water Fight!

No not the fun kind, that you play with your friends on summer days. There are many things that players would like to see in crysis 2 being able to hit an opponent underwater being just one of them. If the nanosuit has all this power shouldn’t Nomad and Psycho be able to fight it out with fists underwater? At Least I think so.

Enough of that…

Download Acute Control Panel CMS Version 1

Hey over the last couple of weeks i made a Website Content Management System, I called it Acute Control Panel, because it was to be developed in a short amount of time. It’s open source anyone can modify it to suite their needs but i would like the original credit.

If you need to quickly make a website then acute cp is way to do it, it takes a few minutes to setup. I’ve made the default template in xhtml and the design SEO Friendly. It’s very easy to create your own themes, checkout The “rounded theme” to create and derive your own.

Installation is easy

Installation

1. Extract, the contents of the zip file into a directory.
2. Create a MySQL Database on your webserver and import/run the MySQL Query “acute-cp.sql” from the contents of the zip, with a user and appropriate permission’s.
3. Open “acute-cp/web_settings.php” with a text editor. Replace the appropriate fields highlighted and any other information if need be(not usually):
   define(”db_name”,”acute-cp“);
   define(”db_server”,”localhost“);
   define(”db_username”,”web-cp“);
   define(”db_password”,”web-cp“);
4. Upload the contents of the “acute-cp” folder to your root FTP directory.
5. Installation is complete login to your control panel with the
   Username: admin
   Password: password
   and make sure you CHANGE the default password.

Firefox 3 Overview

First of all before i start this short overview Download Mozilla Firefox 3! while you read.

And enjoy a few cool pictures i found whilst finding out some information about Firefox 3.

That’s right one of the worlds most favored web browser’s mozilla firefox 3! is available for download as a beta version 4. The smart, and small browser compared to its web browser rival’s, FireFox has taken the web browsing experience by storm and more and more people use Firefox everyday.

Internet Users have seemed to start using Firefox for its great new features that other browser like Internet Explorer have started to implement. Firefox also has a cleaner interface that was very basic looking, but kept everything that any user needed.

Plugins, themes, and community based development is a great feature in Firefox unlike Microsoft’s Internet explorer too.

Lets see what Firefox 3 has in store for us anyway.

Improvements?!

Yeah thats right.. as strange as it may seem what could improve FireFox.

FireFox 3 contains many improvements, When i actually started up this Firefox 3 beta 4 version, it seemed like there was something missing, so of course i checked back to the old firefox and checked back in Firefox 3 again, i thought to myself its got everything that Firefox version 2 has, why does it look cleaner, i managed to notice that there was only no google bar on Firefox 3, because of it being a clean installation.

Firefox 3 also has many additional anti-spy and anti pop up methods, which is great! although i didn’t have many pop up or spy ware problems with Firefox , everyone i come across did with Internet Explorer! Go Firefox.

Mozilla Firefox 3 has also incorporated a more browsing history information, more information! Don’t worry there maybe more information displayed on your screen, but they have managed to keep it as clean as the Firefox browser has maintained through the years.

What is 3DMark Vantage

If your a PC Gamer then you know of 3DMark Most probably 3DMark 05 or 3DMark 06, and thats all great but theres something you should know about and thats 3DMark Vantage!

3DMark Vantage is a Benchmarking tool for your PC created by Futuremark, especially good for users that game lots and want to keep their PC up with latest technology. 3DMark Vantage is “the” benchmarking tool for direct x10!

Direct x10 Requires new hardware of a higher spec than dx9 hardware 3D Mark Vantage is suppose to process all the new dx10 features.

3D Mark Vantage New features

So what features does the new 3DMark Vantage give users? Well as we now know Vantage will be taking advantage of all dx10 features.

• Geometry Shaders - You will see this in 3DMark Vantage’s Star Simulation if you want to know more on geometry shaders click here for a good article.
  
• Water and Cloth Simulation using the GPU - This was previously done by using the CPU.
  
• Anamorphic flare - you get an anamorphic lens flare when direct light hits the camera (your view).
  
• Lenticular Halo - A Lenticular halo is formed usually around a light and displays a spectrum of colour’s
  
• Tone Mapping - tone mapping is usually to create the image more detailed by adjusting contrast and other bits, again if you want to find out more about tone mapping theres a great article on wikipedia
  
• Motion Blur - motion blur is when objects in your view will become distorted an blurred from movement and motion blur is more commonly used when you move your camera in game, a good example of this is Crysis.
  
• Film Grain Noise - You will usually find this happens if there is a problem with your camera and you get lots of speckles, but it can also be used as a technique of displaying graphics for certain purposes.
  
• Depth of Field - depth of field occurs when the lens/camera and in game will blur out the rest of the screen and only keep what your looking at in focus.
